There are two most popular email marketing services are as follows: Mail chimp and AWeber, these leads to the market, both in terms of their features and price. However, we only need one, but choosing from these two is an often daunting task. We’ll be using this service for years to come so it is the best idea to think wisely before when we are going to get started.
The basic services which we are looking for is easy to subscribe or unsubscribe option, deliverability, excellent and good support. Email marketing services which includes AWeber and Mail chimp, provide these.
AWeber allows us easily to send an email newsletters, has above 700 templates and 3000 stock photos, and this also allows us to send our RSS feed as a newsletter, it uses as an auto responders for drip emails, and provides opting forms and it has IOS and Android apps.
Mail chimp, with a trivial bigger focus on usability, this has all this plus drag-and-drop email designer, email personalization, and advanced analytics.
In simply they were very similar.
Sign up forms:
AWeber lets us make signup forms with up to 25 fields of information, by using either our own design or a pre-made template. Forms will be embedded into our site, and also can be turned into a landing page, and also we can carry out A or B tests on them. It integrates with WordPress, Paypal and Face book in which we can add the contact information from customers who are already connected with us on these platforms. We can also use the mobile app to add subscribers on the go, for example at an event.
Mail chimp sign-up forms must require some HTML knowledge. While it is easy to use services which allows us to create sign-up form quickly, once the code for this is generated we need HTML knowledge in order to embedded it into our website. Normal sign-up forms are hosted on Mail chimp’s website, so our readers can be directed to their servers in order to fill out the forms unless we make the effort to embedded it.
Mail chimp wins out in the email design, as we can design the whole thing from the scratch while collaborate it with our team and it also send out the test emails while finalizing the campaign. We’ll see how each email looks on different screens as well.
AWeber has pre-set templates which can be used, that makes it seem simpler, but with over 700 templates to choose from it may take us a while to find the perfect one. We can have the design a premium template for us ($229), or modify any existing template to our layout ($29).
Ease of Import:
When we’re getting started, we need to import our email subscriber list into our chosen services. Aweber has made this thing easy, by allowing us to import from a more variety of text formats or spreadsheets, or even copy and pasting the emails from the other app. We can then map to the contact information with Aweber’s list fields, and also it specifies where each subscriber is far so we can send the subscription confirmation email to the relevant email ones.
Mail chimp also allows us to import using an excel sheet or a CSV file, or even a TXT file. Again like Aweber, we need to map the information we have imported it with Mail chimp’s list fields, but it is an easy process we go through due to their focus on the user experience.
Both these services have extensive online tutorials and which helps us in guides that can be used to solve the issues as they come up. These both also offer an email tech support. However, Aweber also offers live-chat support, as well as the toll-free number, so we can speak to someone in their customer service department quite easy way.
If we aren’t comfortable with the idea of figuring out the solutions to an issue by using an online support guides, or don’t want to wait for the email support to get back to us, Aweber is a clear winner.
Depending on our business plan, we may want to include affiliate links in our emails. Mail chimp, unfortunately, it has very strict affiliate link policies. While these don’t ban links entirely, but they have long list of blacklisted domains which are needed for us in avoiding avoid.
So if affiliate links are the key components of our email marketing, we would strongly suggest that using Aweber which does not have such restrictions.
Both Aweber and Mail chimp are big giants in the world of email marketing, and also we can’t really go wrong with either. However, they are the best case uses for each, and it is quite possible one service will serve our needs better.
Mail chimp is the better if we’re just starting out, and looking for setting up an email list without committing a budget to it. These focus more on user-friendly designs and also options, so apart from their sign-up form HTML requirement we don’t need to be tech-savvy to get started with the services. Mail chimp offers multiple integrations, so that we can import all the contacts from different services. However, this service is probably not a good option.
